WARNING: This review contains spoilers.

When I first watched To all the boys I´ve loved before back in the summer of ´18 I didn´t felt like I had watched a masterpiece or nothing close to it, but I felt like the movie was really entertaining and not as bad as most of the Netflix Teen movies. So, when I read about the sequel I was really excited but it turned out to be one of the worst movies I´ve seen in a while.

The movie is basically Lara Jean and Peter Kavinsky being jealous all the time and Lara Jean just playing with John Ambrose´s feelings for the whole film. I felt that the whole Lara Jean and Peter Kavinsky relationship was pretty toxic, they were both obsessed with each other and Lara Jean started doing things she didn´t felt comfortable or just didn´t wanted to do just so Peter Kavinsky accepts her and likes her, which I think is one of the worst things someone can do, feeling forced to change in order to be liked.

The first movie one of the best thing I think it had was the whole Peter and Lara moments, there were some toxic and stupid moments like the "omg I HAVE to post I picture with you on Instagram now that we are dating" or the "omg I HAVE to have you in my phone wallpaper because if not it means we are not dating" but I think all those moments were stupid rather than toxic. And also, thought the whole movie Lara Jean didn´t change at all, and Peter liked her the way she was and they were both comfortable with each other. But on this second film, the screenwriter threw all that cute and acceptable relationship to make it a toxic relationship based on jealousy just to make 3 movies (which will be all the same). I know these movies are based on books which I have not read but the screenwriters could have improved the story in order to show the audience a cute and healthy relationship, and I think that is very important because of the average audience of these types of movies are teens and these teens have to know that jealousy is not healthy.

Another thing I hated about this movie was the attitude of Peter Kavinsky as a macho man during the whole hour and a half. He literally had a small argument with John Ambrose because Jonh Ambrose wanted to help Lara Jean cleaning up, and Peter was like "I think that her BOYFRIEND can help her", so that tells a lot about how bad the whole relationship was. I have officially become a Peter Kavinsky hater. It´s not that Jonh Ambrose is marvelous or anything but I really think that Lara Jean needs to take a break from boys and just live her life without being worried about literally everything she does.

The movie is not only bad because it portraits a toxic relationship and because the characters are pretty stupid but also because it looks like it was made for 7-year-old girls. The first movie was really no sex no violence no drugs and no blasphemy, which is totally cool and acceptable, but this movie felt like a Barbie movie at times, and I didn´t want to watch a Barbie movie. The actors were great (except for Noah Centineo) having into account the bunch of bad lines they had to say, that´s the only good thing I can say about the movie (and it´s not something incredible or wonderful).

I don´t usually dislike movies as much as I disliked this one cause all the movies I watch are usually pretty good if I feel like a movie is gonna be bad I don´t watch it (just when it has a good cast) and this movie was a big disappointment so I don´t really recommend watching it.

2/10
