So, last Wednesday me & some friends went to the movie theatre and watched Tenet and it was quite an experience!
I have to start this review by saying Tenet is probably my most anticipated movie this year, as The French Dispatch was postponed, and this movie did actually fulfilled all my expectations, so I really enjoyed the movie.

"Armed with only one word, Tenet, and fighting for the survival of the entire world, a Protagonist journeys through a twilight world of international espionage on a mission that will unfold in something beyond real-time." This is the plot IMBD has on its website, it´s the easiest way to talk about the movie argument without saying any spoilers. The movie is probably one of the most expensive and well-done movies ever, Tenet had me on the edge of my seat probably during 90% of the movie as it´s an action-packed movie and has tons of intense scenes with amazing shots of explosions, car crashes, and fight scenes. Christopher Nolan said a while ago that Tenet has less CGI than most of the rom-coms, which makes some really crazy scenes kind of realistic so that was a clever decision.

The thing I enjoyed the most about this movie was probably how visually amazing it was. As I´ve previously said the movie has some really good shots and even though I didn´t understand anything that was going on between the characters and the plot throughout most of the movie, it was still nice to watch because of how stunning the images were. I also think the plot was super smart and complex, as happens with most of Nolan´s movies (Inception, Interstellar, Memento. This movie is most likely to be his most-complicated-to-understand movie, and I´m not exaggerating. Most of the critics and people who have watched the movie have claimed to not understand most of what was going on during the movie and I really think this movie deserves more than a second watch to get to understand and follow what happens during the movie. The first hour of the movie is really fast-going and mysterious and as the movies go on and on it gets harder and harder until you get to a point in which you don´t understand a single thing that is happening.
The performances were really good, Jonh David Washington already proved to be an amazing actor in Spike Lees´s BlacKkKlansman and in this movie he is also really good. Pattinson is one of my favorite actors and in this movie he was really good, I really hope people start to take him as a more serious actor and let go his first acting role as Edward Cullen. Kenneth Branagh and Elizabeth Debicki were also amazing.

With that being said I think this movie has a big problem and this problem is that we don´t really get to empathize and care about the characters. The main character doesn´t even have a name, and there´s nothing wrong with that but I think Nolan should have taken a bit more time to get us to understand and care about the characters. The only character I cared about during the movie and I felt that was well developed was Kat, Elizabeth Dibicki's character, with the whole son sub-plot. But that´s something pretty common in Nolan movies.
Also, the whole plot being SO COMPLICATED could be considered a problem but I just think I need to watch another time, and maybe another, and then I could maybe get to understand the whole movie.

In conclusion, Tenet is a visually amazing film with an amazing shot and a mind-blowing plot, great performances, and not so well developed characters.
9/10
(I´ll probably upload a Tenet explanation post once I get to understand the movie, which might be next week or in December )
