La La Land for me is one of those life-changing movies and this quarantine I´ve been doing nothing but listening to La La Land´s soundtrack on repeat. My favorite soundtrack ever no doubt and one of the most beautiful and amazing movies I´ve seen in my whole life.
So, the movie is a musical and most of the songs have lyrics but some others like "The Epilogue" or "Planetarium" don´t really have lyrics and in this ranking, I´d like to focus on the ones which have lyrics and are performed by Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone. So, "Start a Fire" by John Legend isn´t included in this ranking.

Let´s start...
5. City of Stars, Ryan Gosling, and Emma Stone.
So, this song is sung twice and as I didn't want to be repetitive I just included the second time it´s sung, which is better than the first time in my opinion. In this scene, we can see a happy Mia and a happy Sebastian who are in love and are just enjoying their life as a couple. He starts playing the piano and singing the song to show her his creation and she starts singing with him. I think this is the most romantic and sweet moment in the movie as we can see both characters looking at each other and singing to each other, and we get to feel their love.

4. A Lovely Night, Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone.
This is the first song Mia and Sebastian sing together. They had already met each other when Mia talked to him in the Jazz bar but he was very mean to her at that time. Then, they met again at a party where Sebastian was playing the piano with a band playing some 80s classics, Mia starts making fun of him and asks him to play "I ran", and afterward they start talking and go for a walk in the night to find their cars. Then they start singing this song and they have a pretty interesting conversation. She says "It´s pretty strange that we keep running into each other", then he says "It is strange... Maybe it means something" and then she says "I doubt it" and he says "Yeah I don´t think so" and they start singing this song which basically says "What a waste of a lovely night" meaning it would have been super cool and awesome and romantic to spend this night here with someone loved instead of this person you keep running into all the time. The whole cinematography and scenery in this scene are really beautiful and aesthetically pleasing.

3. Another Day of Sun, La La Land cast.
(I´ve said that in these songs only the ones performed by Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling were gonna be ranked but this song is one of the most iconic and relevant songs in the movie, so, it enters in this ranking.)
The opening scene of this movie which already defines the tone and perfection this movie has. We can see the typical LA traffic jam and some random people with some really colorful clothes starts singing and really positive and happy song. I really don´t think this song has much to do with Mia´s and Sebastian´s story but I really feel like it´s something necessary in the movie, as as I´ve said, it really sets the tone of the movie and gets us into the whole musical vibe. One of the most beautiful and synchronized musical scenes I´ve ever seen.

2. Audition (The Fools Who Dream), Emma Stone.
This is probably the best performance ever as I´ve seen of Emma Stone, she won the Oscar for her MARVELOUS performance in this movie. This song was also nominated also for an Oscar, but didn't win it. In this scene, we can see an inspired Mia in an audition that will change her life a lot. The guys who are in charge of the audition tell Mia to tell a story and she starts singing about her aunt, which was a really important person to her, as she says previously in the movie. She gets the role and becomes a famous actress, as she always wanted. She marries a man who is not Sebastian and has a baby with him. Her relationship with Sebastian is over but she made her dream come true, literally,

1. Someone In The Crowd, Emma Stone, Callie Hernandez, Sonoya Mizuno, and Jessica Rothe.
My favorite musical scene ever and one of my favorite songs. This is the second song in the movie and we get to see Mia´s life. She goes to an audition and fails, then she goes home, takes a shower, and lays in bed, as she´s a bit down. Then, her friends convince her on going to a party and they all dress up with colorful dresses and start singing this amazing song. The whole scenery used in this song is stunning and super well done, the scene when everyone is slowly dancing and it starts snowing and we see Mia´s face is one of the most beautiful scenes I´ve ever seen in a movie.

That´s it for today, thanks a lot for reading :)
