Contagion movie review

So as everyone was talking about the similarities this blockbuster has with the world's actual situation regarding the coronavirus I decided to give it a watch, and the movie was quite good actually.

This movie written by Scott Z. Burns and directed by Steven Soderbergh is about a pandemic that spreads really really quickly (quicker than coronavirus) and it´s pretty lethal, At one point in the movie, it is mentioned that 23 million people have died of that illness in like less than 100 days, so it´s much worse than corona. I´m not an expert in pandemics or anything but like everyone else right now I´m living an extraordinary situation that is extremely unusual and I feel like the movie was pretty realistic in the way the whole illness was spread throughout the world very quick (like happened with corona), it was a bit dramatized but that´s normal as it´s a movie.

The movie has some really good performances especially Matt Damon, who is the main character, or at least the one who has more screen time. It also has Kate Winslet, Marion Cotillard, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jude Law, Bryan Cranston and Laurence Fishburne, among other great actors. Another very positive aspect the movie had, in my opinion, was that it had lots of action and plot and I didn´t felt like a boring movie at any time, in fact, the movie felt like a really short movie to me (it´s like 1 hour and 45 minutes approximately), and I think that´s not an easy thing to do as many movies struggle to make every scene relevant and entertaining but this movie achieves it! I also enjoyed the movie edition which was really dynamic.

So, to sum up the movie is not a masterpiece or anything but is pretty entertaining and, as sad as it sounds, you can relate to the situation a lot.
