Call me by your name was released almost 3 years ago and I'm still not over it... What a wonderful movie! (Also, a sequel has been confirmed with the original cast!!)
So, this movie is directed by Luca Guadagnino based on the novel by André Aciman and adapted to the big screen by James Ivory, who won an Oscar for his script on this movie. The movie stars Timothée Chalamet as Elio, a 17-year-old musical genius spending his summer in his Italian villa who starts to fall for the college student who is staying some weeks with Elio´s father to learn some art stuff, played by Armie Hammer.
The best thing this movie has, in my opinion, is the cinematography. Every scene in Call me by your name feels like a work of art and all the landscapes are really beautiful. The cinematography plus the soundtrack combine in a way that makes you feel like you were in the movie and make you feel what the characters are feeling, at least that happened to me, maybe that´s the reason why most of the people feel like their heart broke when the movie ends. The soundtrack is really good and accurate, especially the songs by Sufjan Stevens (Visions of Gideon, Mistery of love and Futile Devices), one of my favorite soundtracks in movie history.

Another really good thing about this movie is obviously the whole story. I´m a big fan of Call me by your name and before watching the movie I read the book and I have to say that I prefer the movie rather than the book. The book is really beautiful and really good, I don´t deny that, but the book was much longer and had some scenes which felt irrelevant to me. On the other side, the movie didn´t have any of these scenes and everything that happened in the movie had an explanation and was not boring. Some people say that the movie is a very slow movie but in my opinion, the movie is not slow at all, I think it takes the time it needs to introduce the characters and get the audience into the whole vibe of the movie. Also, I would like to highlight the naturalness and simplicity of all the love scenes, this movie is not a graphic movie but there are some scenes which involve sex and I feel like the movie did it in a very accurate and natural way and didn´t felt superficial or unrealistic, like most of the sex/love scenes in movies.
The acting in this movie is REALLY good, some of the best acting of 2017, Timothée is really good, his best performance ever, and Armie too. Also, Ellio´s parents who are played Michael Stuhlbarg and Amira Casar and are my favorite characters in the whole movie act really well and are really likable.
So, to sum up, Call me by your name is a beautiful movie with some amazing music, landscapes and actors! Also, it has peaches!!
10/10
